IMAP accounts stop checking for new mail

I have Outtlook 2007 running on Vista and have had the same problem on both
my laptop and desktop , and now a collegue is seeing the same issue. We keep
having IMAP accounts that seem to stop checking for new mail.

My Outlook is configured with 4 seperate IMAP accounts and one POP3. 2 of
my IMAP accounts are on the same server the other 2 are on different servers
(but both with the same host) Unfortunately I do not know what server they
use but webmail is provided via smatermail (if that helps) .

My issue is that periodically one of the accounts wil stop checking for new
mail. It seems to happen sporadically and the other PC can still connectand
recieve with no issues. There are no error messages and all other accounts
continue to function.

The only fix I have found is to remove the account and then add it again.
This is not ideal for a whole number of reasons so if anyone has any
suggestions on how to rectify this or what causes it then I'd be really
greatful.

Thanks

Andrew

My collegues account has just started recieveing again after 3 days of using
the web interface to collect email. He has not changed any settings and
other IMAP accounts with the same ISP had continued to function during the
downtime. Is this something other users have encountered?
