I'm trying to set up a new IMAP account and keep receiving the error message:
Log onto incoming mail server (IMAP): General authentication failed. None of
the authentication methods supported by your IMAP server (if any) are
supported on this computer.
I've used the recommended settings for my ISP (and which I've successfully
used in the past), and tried toggling the "Use secured password
authentication" for both incoming and outgoing servers, to no avail.
I've kept the default incoming and outgoing servers - 143 and 25,
respectively, because my ISP didn't suggest otherwise.
I'm a Vista Business 32 user with Outlook 2007.
My other email account (Gmail) is working find in IMAP, but neither incoming
nor outgoing will work for my second account.
