Can Exchange server connect to an remote IMAP mail server similar to how the
Exchange POP3 connector works?

Thank you in advance.

I don't know if Exchange can, but Outlook itself can.

Not directly, but some of the 3rd party pop connectors can collect mail from
imap servers and deliver it to Exchange mailboxes. See
http://www.slipstick.com/exs/popconnect.htm for a list. Only popbeamer and
exchangepop3 are identified as supporting imap, but I'm pretty sure a few
others do. (I use popbeamer to collect from pop3 account and am very happy
with it. Never tried it with IMAP accounts.)
