I would like the INBOX name and message count and INBOX subfolder names to be bolded (which they are) and colored "red" which they are not when they contain unread messages.

I set Preferences > Mail & News Preferences > View > Messages to: Show Unread Messages as Bold and Show Messages Using These Colors to Unread as Red, Read as Black.

The actual unread messages in my INBOX and the subfolders show as bold and red Yeah!

However my INBOX shows "INBOX (60)" in black bold NOT red. Further, when new messages arrive and are moved via "rules" to a subfolder of my INBOX, the subfolder names also only shows as Black Bold without a message count and not Red Bold as desired.

Is there a way to turn the text red/bold on the INBOX or a subfolder when they contain unread messages in the INBOX or subfolder?

Hi Al,

You can't make a folder change color to show whether there are unread
messages. You can assign a color for looks using categories. Hold Control
key down when clicking on a folder and assign a category to it. Other than
color it that category it's not functional with the use of categories.

Hope this helps!
