My environment:
Vista, Outlook 2007, Gmail IMAP
I have set up Gmail with IMAP but it does not seem to get new mail
until I actually click and enter a folder. I've subscribed to all
GMAIL folders, and my send/receive settings are set to "get folder
unread count for subscribed folders." I've tried just about every
combination of settings possible. I've tried both setting it to
download only headers as well as full items. It doesn't matter if I
do a manual send/receive or if happens on schedule (currently set to
check every 10 minutes). I use rules to move emails to folders upon
receipt and rely on the Unread mail counter next to each folder, but
they are pretty useless if they don't activate until I actually click
the folder. I've seen a few other posts with similar problems in this
and other groups but so far I have not found a solution anywhere.
