IMAP Synchronization Glitch

Carol Mattick

Hi - I am trying to put my primary Outlook data files in an IMAP file to
allow me to access it from mulitple computers. I use .pst files for email
archives which I access but generally do not change. However, when I open
Outlook, it often goes out and does a send/receive for the IMAP folder. The
problem is that it will hang up in the second step of the process, the
synchronization. This hang up prevents me from accessing anything else in
Outlook -- Contacts, Notes, pst folders. I ususally have to end the task.
Then when I re-enter Outlook it tells me that certain files did not close
properly and it needs to review / repair them. I have a brand new machine, a
Dell 3 Ghz, 2 GB RAM, 256MB video RAM. And, thought with all of that
horsepower, I would eliminate these kinds of problems Au contraire!
