IME doesn't work.

Hi all,

I've got a problem with Simplified Chinese IME. I've got a
WinMe laptop, 256Mb, 1 GHz P3. I also have Office 2000 SR-
1.

Previously I had Simplified Chinese IME installed, and it
worked fine with Word2000, Outlook Express, and IE. Ever
since I installed Project 2002, the IME has stopped
working. I hadn't realised that the presence of Project
2002 on the computer would cause this problem.

I then decided to remove Project, but the IME has not
regained its functionality. It still appears dead.

I have tried uninstalling and re-installing both Office
2000 and the IME, but still "no dice".

It was suggested to me that I should upgrade the IME to
the Office XP IME as I had had a member of Office XP (in
the form of Project 2002) on my computer, and that this
would allow me to regain access to Simplified Chinese.
However, when I tried this, the XP IME refused to load as
it couldn't detect any members of Office XP on my computer.

So what to do? Office 2000 IME doesn't work which may be
caused by Project 2002. Office XP IME doesn't work because
of lack of Office XP. My computer seems to be caught in a
situation because each IME thinks that the other condition
should apply.

Is there any way around this, for example Registry
changes, or should I go for a complete re-installation of
WinMe?

Any suggestions...?
