This has been a problem in Word for at least two versions.
When typing in, say English, after you do a Insert -> Special Character,
insert a special character, and close the dialog, the IME switches languages
on you.
This happens in a couple of dialogs and is really irritating because it's
difficult enough to remember all the hot keys, much less having to remember
which subroutines are going to switch the IME.
