suzshark,
I sounds like you want to import timescaled data from Excel to Project.
Unfortunately a simple import map will not do that - you will need a VBA
macro.

If you only need to transfer a limited amount of data you could also do
a copy/paste from Excel to Project using the Resource Usage view in
Project. Obviously the macro would be more reliable and less prone to
error but if you don't do VBA and don't know anyone who does, then the
manual copy/paste approach is an option.

John,

Thanks for the info. Now to figure out how to do the VBA!

suzshark,
And we've got a great answer for that also. Fellow MVP, Rod Gill has
recently put out a book exclusively dedicated to Project VBA. I've read
it and it is well worth the money. You can get it from Amazon and other
places. Look for the title: "VBA Programming for Microsoft Office
Project".

I tried to get it from Amazon but it's still not yet available. Gues
I'll keep checking back to see when it is actually available.

Thanks a bunch

Sorry, that's Amazon being difficult. They have a flag that says the book is
still due out rather than already here and they can't seem to reset it. You
can get the book from http://www.projectvbabook.com and following the order
link in the left column. This orders the book from MSProjectExperts. Their
delivery is great, faster than Amazon!
