Import AutoCad drawings with CAD objects

I'm using AutoCAD 2000i (with the Autodesk Architectural Desktop 3.3
Object Enabler plug-in [ADT330] installed) and Visio 2003 Pro.

One particular CAD drawing I'm working with has objects in it that can
only be viewed in CAD b/c I have ADT330 installed.

I'd like to import this drawing into Visio, but when I try, all the
objects (walls, doors, stairs, etc) that are only viewable with the
ADT330 plug-in don't show up.

Anybody have suggestions or ideas on how I can get Visio to understand
the objects?

Thanks!!

I'm not sure how the plug-in works, but your entities aren't even viewable
in AutoCAD without the plug-in, right?

Does the plug-in have some sort of "push to AutoCAD as dumb objects" option,
where you can dump the vectors into the file without the added smarts and
support of the plug-in?

My guess is that this plug-in is rather sophisticated, and goes as far as
rendering it's own objects. When you save the ACAD file, you're saving
little programs, so to speak, not vectors.

Sorry not much of an answer,

Thanks Chris.

I actually just figured out that if you explode all objects in the CAD
file several times ... not sure why but you really need to do it three
or four times ... they will then import into Visio.

Sort of what I was guessing...I like the term "explode"!
