IMPORT CONTACTS FROM MAIL TO EXCEL

Tried your suggestion but Apple Mail is not one of the programs my
version of Entourage ( 10.0.0 ) lists as one of the programs it can
import from.
Any further ideas ?

Sorry it won't work for you, but that is the only procedure I'm aware of.
Mail's contacts are actually store in Address Book which can only export as
vCards. I don't know the earlier version of Entourage well enough, but if it
can import vCard data you may be in business. Since v11 _doesn't_ I doubt
earlier versions did.

Hopefully someone else will have an idea, and if I come up with anything
I'll post back.

You can drag your Address Book Contacts to the desktop, thus creating vCard.
Then, if you drag these cards to the Entourage Address Book, you'll have the
contacts added and you can carry on to get them in an Excel Worksheet.

The first think I'd suggest you to do is an update of your version 10.0.0 of
Office. Download the 10.1.6 update from mactopia and apply it. Lots of bugs
have been corrected:

Correct. There are no contacts in Apple's Mail - they are in Apple's Address
Book. (There are ways to import your _mail_ from Mail into Entourage, but
they differ depending on which OS you have. If you are in Panther and may
want to do this, be prepared: Before you apply that 10.1.6 update, install
the "Import from Mail" applescript from the Service Pack on the Office CD if
you have not done so already. THEN apply the update. (If you have already
done so, you'll have to re-apply it after installing Import from Mail.) If
you're in Tiger, the process will be a lot more tedious - write back. (If
you're still in Jaguar, then run Import from Mail _before_ you apply the
10.1.6 update.)
