Import CSV File into Calendar

I am attemping to import a csv file into my personal folder calendar using
Outlook XP. I've gone through the wizard mapped all fields needed. The
wizard acts as if it has imported the data but the data does not appear on
my calendar. Every peice of evidence I have seen on the web implies this
should work. Can anyone tell me what I might be doing wrong? Please let me
know if I have not included enough information.
