Import data format

I've got a fairly large table of item names and things to be linked to
those items in an excel format, is there anyway I can have visio import
this file, create the shapes, and connect them to other shapes as
specificied?

The file looks something like this:

baseshape|connected to

shape1|shape2,shape3,shape4
shape2|shape1,shape3,shape5
shape3|shape2,shape1
shape4|shape1
shape5|shape2

(where | indicates a column break and , represents nothing but a comma
in the cell)

I'm not sure how easy this is to do, but I can reformat the data pretty
much anyway that would make it easier?
