I have Excel 2007. In a workbook I have a sheet with existing data and would
like to replace than data with data in a text file with the columns delimited
by a "|" (vertical bar).
I go to the sheet and click on the start position of the insert (as for
earlier versions of Excel) Then click on the "Data" tab, the leftmost group
of options is "Get External Data" but all of the choices are grayed and I
cannot import.
If I create a new empty worksheet in the exisiting file, and do the same
thing, the data imports properly. Has the ability to import and overwrite
existing data gone away?
