import database

I am trying to locate my business contact data from my old hard drive and
import into my new computer (vista/office 2007). I have looked for a bcm
file without finding one. I found the mdf and ldf files, but am not certain
as how to link these to outlook/bcm. I tried creating a new database, but
don't think I did it correctly. Help is much appreciated.

In order to import from a file, you first need to export to a file
from your old database.

You can also try copy the mdf file from your old machine to the
equivalent folder on the new machine. Then in BCM select that
database. BCM should first attach the database to sql on the new
machine, making it selectable. If it doesn't work, you can try
attaching the database/mdf file to sql dircetly, using sql tools.

Strating with the first suggestion, how do I export from my old database if
my old computer crashed (the hard drive back up is now on my new computer).
Re; the second suggestion, I tried to cut and paste the files into the
equivalent folders on the new machine and that didn't work.
Thank you.

Hi
Did you copy the mdf file to
C:\Users\"User Name"\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Business Contact Manager folder?
Did you run Business Contact Manager first use wizard after that?

Thanks
