IF what you have is a DL in a Public Folder, you don''t need it in your
Contacts folder to make it work as you describe it:
"What I am trying to accomplish is to move these lists so I can place
them
in the pull down menu from the "Select Names" dialogue box in the "show
names from the" field when composing a message.
SHow the Folder List View in the Navigation Pain, that's the left side
chunk
of Outlook. Drill down to the Public Folder Contacts Folder that has
your
DL in it. (Go all the way down to the root source folder not one you have
put in Favorites)
Right click that Contacts Folder | Properties | Outlook Address Book |
check
the box to Show as an Outlook Address book. Now the names in that
Contacts
Folder will appear in the To... field and when you want to show names
from
each folder.

My company has several distribution lists which I wish to import into
my
address book. They are listed under a public contacts folder in
outlook
under public folders. These lists have the same icon listed as my
contact
list, so these could possibly be classified as contacts. Can anyone
provide
me with assistance as to how I can do this? Google and Microsoft help
provide me with no examples.
