import email accounts from another outlook

O

overlook

I re-installed my xp and am using a fresh copy of outlook 2003. i know how to
configure this fresh outlook to use previous outlook files i have saved, i.e.
able to point to the previous mails, folders and calenders. it is working
beautifully.

the only problem is that i had configured many pop accounts in my previous
outlook. it is great pain to reconfigure in this fresh copy of outlook all
the pop accounts again.

my question is how can i import those accounts from my previous outlook into
this fresh copy of outlook?

will be grateful to hear a good solid reply from kind soul out there. thank
you!

Hi Arthur,
yes there is a programm, BUT only in german
www.mobackup.de
this program can save your accounts.
Without this tool, there is no chance to backup your accounts

The Save My Settings Wizard can transfer email accounts just fine.

Start | All Programs | Microsoft Office | Microsoft Office Tools | Microsoft Office 2003 Save My Settings Wizard. It's self-explanatory and will transfer all your Office data and settings into an .ops file you can then copy to the other machine and import.

If you want to copy just the email accounts, the process is more involved because you will need to edit the .ini file to include only the registry entries in the WindowsMessagingSubsytem key. The Office Resource Kit has a long article on how to customize the .ini file.
