Import .eml files to Outlook

I have archived from an online Yahoo account a large number of messages.
I'd like to bring these into Outlook 2002.

The files which the Yahoo export function created are individual .eml files.
I can copy them into Outlook, but they are not recognised as standard mail
'items' - if I double-click to open them, an Outlook Express window is
launched.

If you know how I can import these .eml files into Outlook 2002 so that they
can be managed as standard Outlook items your advice would be much
appreciated.

I've found that dragging them into Outlook Express and then Importing into
Outlook seems to work.

Apologies for not trying this before I sent the message (although I had at
least done a search of the newsgroups).
