Import Excel 2001 Files into FileMaker Pro 6 Records

I have developed a one-page form that reflects the information
contained on a Census Index Card. However, for convenience and
readability, there are numerous blank cells interspersed with the
data, and some narrow cells have been merged to form wider cells; the
entire form spans many columns. In anticipation of importing this data
into FileMaker, I assigned an appropriate "cell name" to each datum
cell.
Is there some way by which I can import the data in one Excel file
into a single FileMaker record so that the information corresponding
to a given Excel cell name imports into a corresponding FileMaker
field name? I have hundreds of these Excel files to convert into
FileMaker records.
I would appreciate any suggestions you might have.

Hi

I'm not quite sure of your exact need, but it sounds like you could make a
blank worksheet, then put the column header names for the data table into
row 1.

In the corresponding cell directly below the header name put the formula
="cell name" so that "cell name" appears in the cell. Then save the
worksheet in csv format.
