Import Excel and Formulas

When importing an Excel spreadsheet, will Access take the formulas in the
spreadsheet or the results of the formulas?

hi,
depends. access 97 don't like excel formulas. higher
versions seem to but still there is the possibility of
import errors.
i've always converted excel formulas to value before
import.
as a linked excel file, access is ok with excel formulas.

How do you link an Access database to an Excel spreadsheet?

The results. Sometimes, Access fails to import cells containing formula
(or maybe it's just complex formulas: I've never managed to find out).
If so, use Edit|Paste Special,Values or some other technique to replace
the formulas with their results.

file>get external date>link table. when the link dialog
box comes up, select file type excel then brouse.
