import excel birthday list as recurring events

How can I import an excel birthday list as recurring events (annual)?

Not a supported field. You will need to set the recurrence after import.

That's what I feared. However, after 500 birthdays and anniversaries, I have
become very proficient in two-handed mouse/button sequencing!
