import excel into access 2003

Please help regarding the import wizard ...

OS = xp pro, sp 1, tablet edition

In access 2003, i've opened an mdb file saved in access 2000 format. I want to import a worksheet from an excel 2000 file. I'm using the wizard, it sees the excel data just fine, but when I try to modify the column names that I will import, it only modifies the first column name. (the wizard lets you select each column and modify the column name, data type, or skip it all together)

This works fine in Access 2000, but in 2003, I can only change the first column name to be imported. When I select the second (or any other column) to change its name, it always changes the first column's name

Most strange... has anyone seen this

Yes.
It is a bug.
MS is aware of it.
Not sure when it will get fixed.
Check MSKB - maybe they have more details and a workaround.

I am having the same problem. If anyone knows of a patch
or something that we need to resolve this, please let us
know.

Thanks.
