Import/Export

I used to work off a Compaq laptop that has no burner or
floppy drive (no way to get info off computer other than
email). I just got a desktop computer.

Is there any way to export my archived emails and attach
them in an email so that I can download them onto the
desktop? I've exported them to a .pst file, but Outlook
won't let me attach it to an email. Same thing with my
contacts export - won't let me attach. I get the
message "operation failed".

I'm using Outlook Office XP; windows me on the desktop,
and 98 on the laptop.

Any ideas? Thanks much!

The pst file contains all mail and contacts.
Are you sure yr trying to attach the correct pst file?, and that it is not
open, in OL, when doing so?
Depending on size yr ISP may have a size limit also.
You could also use pkzip to span the file to floppys
Or network the two pc'c

Don't Export. With Outlook closed, make a copy of your PST. Name it
xxxxx.PS_ or xxxxx.PSX (i.e., name it something other than ".pst". Start
Outlook. Send it to the laptop user's mail address. When it arrives there,
save it to some folder on the laptop. Rename it, giving it the ".pst" file
type again. Use File>Open>Personal Folders File to open it. Drag-and-drop
or right-click-drag-and-drop to move the items in the folders to where you
want them.
