I am using Excel and Access 2003.
I set up a querytable to get data from an Access database query, using the
menu data...Import External Data...Import Data... It was easy to set up and
worked perfectly for a few days. Then all of a sudden I received the
following message and can no longer refresh the query. I tried to set up the
file again and I still get the same error message.
Data could not be retrieved from the database.
Check the database server or contact your database administrator. Make sure
the external database is available, and then try the operation again.
I have confirmed that the query run successfully in Access. The query runs
against an ODBC linked table and Excel asks for the user id and password to
the oracle table so I know that part is working. As a precaution, I have
also confirmed that no one (including me) is in the database. Note - there
are 334 records in the query result so that is not an issue either.
Any ideas?
