Import External Data into Excel

J

Does anybody know what the maximum number of external data ranges can be
imported into an Excel file?

At present the maximum I can import into a file is 64. Is this the maximum?
Is the issue with my file? Is the issue with my system setup?

Any advice would be appreciated.

This is not the limit. What is the external data source? How is it specified
to Excel? How are you trying to import it?

This is actually my query.

The problem is that if I have more than 64 access queries feeding into an
excel spreadsheet and I try to refresh all of them at once I then get an
error message saying:-
Unspecified Error

If I then click OK I get the following message:-
The following data range failed to refresh....

This doesn't happen if I have less than 64 external data queries.

So the question is does excel have a limit on how many external data queries
can be refreshed at once and is there any work around I can use to solve this.

Sounds like this may be a limit to the ODBC driver you are using. Have you
checked with the vendor?

These are Microsoft Access queries feeding into a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet
so I don't see why the ODBC driver should set a limit.

I don't either, but maybe there is one. Can you describe your configuration,
OS, versions, etc, and tell how you are getting at the Access data.
