Import file and multi user DB split errors

I have a access 2000 DB application it uses a macro to
import a comma dilimited file using the transfer text
method. When you run this macro it runs ok the first
time. if i try to restore the file and run the macro
again i must close and re-open access or I get a could
not open file error. I have also tried to make this a
front and back end application and it does not work.
After a successfull split I use the link table manager to
link tables locally just in a different folder. if I run
my import macro I get file not found so I close access re-
open and then I get numeric field overflow.


Help please.
