import folder of shortcuts to autocorrect

I am using windows XP with word professional office. I am a medical
transcriptionist and we use shortcuts or glossaries. I want to use
autocorrect because I transcribe in word and cannot afford to type out words
I use everyday so I have about 3,000 shortcuts such as "tpt" would come out
"the patient". I do not have time to add all 3,000 at one time and not using
them can cause me to lose money. How can I move the folder of shortcuts to
autocorrect all at once

offered on this page creates a table into which you can paste your existing
shortcuts.

I don't know whether this is going to be fast enough help you or not,
but it's the only game in town...

download the zip file (Autocorrect.zip). Unzip it into your Templates
folder. In Word, use File > New to create a document based on it. A
dialog box will open with Backup, Restore, and Cancel buttons. Click
the Backup button.

This makes a new document containing a three-column table. The first
column contains the shortcut names of the entries that already exist
in your AutoCorrect collection. The second column contains the results
when the shortcut is expanded. The third column, headed "RTF",
contains False if the entry isn't formatted, which should probably be
the case for all of your entries. Save that document (besides being
useful for the next step, it's a good backup of your AutoCorrect
entries).

This is where I'm not sure whether this is suitable for you. I have no
idea what you mean by a "folder" of shortcuts -- is this a folder on
the disk with lots of separate files in it, or do you really mean a
single document?

Anyway, if you can add your entries to the table without taking too
long a time to do it, then you can use the Restore button to load the
expanded table into the AutoCorrect collection.
