Import from excel moves columns locations

When I import an excel file into Access 2007 database the order of the
columns is changed. As you go through the import steps all the columns are in
the right order, but once you finish the import and view the table the
columns have been shifted around. Has anybody else seen this and if so is the
shift consistent because I intend to append additional data to this table.

The order of the columns - in databases called fields - doesn't make any
difference to Access.
There are big diffferences in the way a database sets up its fields(columns)
In excel you may have a column for each month or each product or each
location - in Access you would have a single field (column) for month or
product or location. All the month data would have the month name in a
single field, or all the product names in a single field (column) or all the
location names in a single field (column).
