Import from excel

T

tried&tired

Our new construction schedule plan is created in Project. We are creating an
excel worksheet to receive our resource group's actual work and costs from
our separate payroll system before importing these into MS Project. Our
problem is we have tried using Export Wizard to provide headers in excel and
show us what will be needed column headers to receive our new work hours and
costs. The outline of our plan is a basic summary task broken down into
several subtasks and each subtask has ten assigned resource groups. Please
help us select our excel worksheet headers out of all of the drop menu
choices.

Hello,

Besides the Task Name (header?) I would export from Project to Excel the
Unique ID field as an identifier for the task. you could possibly assign a
filter so thet you export only a specific set of tasks. This mapp will be
used for the import from Excel to Project withe Merge option : you will use
the Unique ID as a Merge key.

Hope this helps,
