Import from Microsoft Project

I want to import data from MS Project. I thought I could programatically
save the project file as an mdb file from Access then import the table I need
into my access database using transferdatabase. So far I have been unable to
save the project file as an Access database. Has anyone done this before? I
want to avoid writing an SQL query to transfer around 90 fields from one
table and another 30 from a second table.
