Hi,
first of all, are we talking about Outlook Express or Outlook? You mention
Outlook Express in your subject line, yet you also speak of PST files, and I
have never heard that Outlook Express uses PST files, too. Mind you, I'm no
Outlook Express expert, so I might be wrong. If it is Outlook, these two
pages here should tell you how to get your e-mail messages across:
<
http://www.entourage.mvps.org/cross_platform/index.html>
<
http://www.entourage.mvps.org/cross_platform/win_mac.html>
In the case of Outlook Express, though, the transfer is made much easier
since Outlook Express and Entourage use the same e-mail file format. Simply
create a folder in Windows Explorer, select all the messages you'd like to
transfer from Outlook Express, then move them to your new folder. You will
now have individual .eml files which you can transfer to your Mac via a USB
flash drive, or any other way, and then drag into Entourage. Note however
that this method does not preserve your folder structure in Outlook Express.
If all this didn't help, post back with more details. And by the way, it's
perfectly normal that you didn't get Microsoft's PST Import Tool to work; it
can only import PST files that were created with the Mac version of Outlook.
Hi. I do not know how to set up a microsoft exchange server so I can
not import my inbox from my windows based pc to my new mac. Is there
any way I can import it in the .pst format? I downloaded the free .pst
import tool from the ms website but this doesnt work with the windows
based outlook express .pst files. Could you please help to create an
exchange server as from what I have understood this is the only way to
import my mails into the mac.
