Import from Outlook Express?

I use MS-Outlook 2007, but it is now tied up indexing a humungously large
set of 19 PST files that I just attached to a new Archive mail profile. My
estimate is that the indexing will take over two more days to be complete.
But I will want to download new mail before then. If I use Outlook Express
to download the mail, can I easily import it into MS-Outlook 2007's mail
profile? If possible, I want downloaded mail concentrated in MS-Outlook and
not divided among different email programs, if possible.

While your pst-files are being indexed, it is absolutely no problem to
continue using Outlook.

Thank you. As advised to do by a posting in this forum, I have created a
new profile in Outlook dedicated to keeping archive files. This profile is
setup without an email account, and is not meant to be used for new
correspondence. So, to 'continue using Outlook' for new correspondence, I
must close this profile and open the other profile which I regularly use for
new correspondence. I suppose that when the archive profile is closed and
the correspondence profile is opened, the indexing in the archive profile
will cease.

That's correct. I'd recommend to leave the indexing being done overnight
then as I assume you use your regular email more than your archives? The
indexer will continue where it left off the next time you start Outlook with
that mail profile.

You could of course use Outlook Express or your web mail in between, but I
think that's just complicating things even more.
Anyway, if you go that route, make sure you use the Export function of OE to
leave more of the header intact in the migration process.
