Hi,

Paul Berkowitz' shareware "Export-Import Entourage" should do the job.
http://scriptbuilders.net/files/exportimportentourage1.3.9.html

Alternatively, if you are using Mac OS X 10.4 and Entourage 2004, you could
set up Entourage to sync to iCal, which might be more convenient if you
intend to keep using Entourage and iCal at the same time. If you need more
instructions for that, post back.

Thanks for the plug, Michel, but Export-Import does not work with iCal (nor
Apple's Address Book), since they do not export their data to tab-text files
(nor csv).

However, my Sync scripts are designed for precisely that purpose. Sync
Entourage-iCal (Tiger or Panther version, as appropriate) is the best way to
do what Friedrich wants. It's free for 14 days' use, so a simple one-time
import is free.

It has the distinct advantage over SyncServices in that Friedrich would be
able to to import all his events and todos in from every iCal calendar into
Entourage, and every event and task will display a category (and same color)
in Entourage corresponding to the calendar it had in iCal. By contrast, as
you'll recall, SyncServices syncs only items from an "Entourage" calendar in
iCal. Since he won't even have an "Entourage" calendar to start with,
nothing will sync. He'd have to somehow or other move all his events and
todos into an "Entourage" calendar first - I don't think there's any way to
do that - he could be here a month later still laboriously at it... And then
even if you do it that way, the transferred events will have no
category/calendar association in Entourage.

There _is_ another way: he could export each iCal calendar to a
(multi-event) .ics file, one by one. (File/Export in iCal after selecting
each calendar in the Calendars list.) Then change the association of .ics
files to Entourage via Get Info in the Finder/Opens With/Entourage/Change
All, and drag each .ics file, one by one, onto the Entourage icon in the
dock. That will import all the events and todos into Entourage 2004 11.2 and
later (doesn't work for earlier versions). However, they lose any
calendar/category association - they end up with no categories. Also no
alarms/reminders, and so on.

It's much easier to use Sync Entourage-iCal, which will do it all for you.

Make sure to get Sync Entourage-iCal 2 [TIGER] if you're in Tiger (OS 10.4).

That's actually what I was going to suggest; I don't know why I got it mixed
up. Old age is probably not an excuse, I guess. Oh well. ;-)
