import jpg files to Word

When I try to Insert a Jpg file into word, I can't find any format that
recognizes the jpg file sitting on my desktop. How do I import this jpg file
into a word doc?

You should be able to insert JPG files if you select Insert > Picture > From
File. In the "Files of type" field (bottom of dialog box), make sure to
select a type that includes JPG, e.g. "All files" or "All pictures".
