Import Map trips up on dates defaulting

Whilst importing an excel project plan into Project, the
dates default to the project start date, how do I avoid
this ie to get the dates that are in the spreadsheet to
end up in the plan?

Hello,
If you import dates, you introduce date constraints.
Make sure the Project Start date is compatible with the dates your are
importing : Project / Project information...

I just ran into this problem myself. What I did was to open a blank project,
set the project start date, and then use the import wizard to append to the
project (versus creating a new one)
