Import my existing web site into front page2002 so I can modify

I already have a web site built for me by someone else and now I wish to
manage my web site from my own computer using Front Page 2002...
Is there an easy way for me to copy accross the old web site and then start
working on editing it with Frontpage 2002 and just using the old web content
as it was .

You don't want to Import it unless the hosted site does not have the FP Server Extensions
- You want to Open your online site in FP and Publish it to your PC

Your host server either supports the FP Server Extensions or they don't

To find out see
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;828909

If they do see
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;825528&Product=fp2003
(do not use the optimize options if you don't understand their impact)

If they don't then you would use File Import and browse to your URL
- or better still a 3rd party FTP to download your site
