I need to import opportunities and other history items into business contact
manager. How do I do this? What are the fields called? I can import the
names and address fine, but not the opportunities.

I believe Opportunities can only be imported as BCM files.

I'm trying to get data out of Raiser's Edge and into BCM. Getting the
opportunities is a must. Can I use SQL somehow?

I'm not familiar with Raiser's Edge.

It's technically feasible to insert Opportunities in the database
tables directly with SQL, but it its probably easier to convert them
to the XML used in BCM files and then import those, that way BCM will
update the database tables itself.

The tricky part will be identifying the Opportunities' parent Accounts
or Business Contacts. That will probably be easiest if the parents and
opportunities are imported in the same file.
