Import Options?

I see that you can import Word, Text, and HTML files in "outline format" to
create a PowerPoint automatically split up into slides with a header and
items on each slide. This seems to work pretty well.

I was wondering if it would be possible to import transitions during this
import, or is it a straight text import and that's all. For instance, on one
of the bullet points, I would like to use a slide in from left transition, is
there any way at all that I can put some sort of code or anything into the
file that would indicate that I'd like to do that for that line?

I am also a developer, and sometimes use methods to link into Excel and read
or write text to an Excel spreadsheet. However, I have not been able to find
any techniques to do the same thing with PowerPoint. Does such a capability
exist? If so, could someone point me to a resource for this?

Thanks,
Jesse

I don't think anything like this exists now, but I am pretty sure the
capability is there if you want to write the code. This page will get you
started understanding how to program animations in PowerPoint:
