I have a lot of older Visio stencils. Is there a way to import or convert
them to Visio 2007?

thx

I keep getting a message that Visio is not working?

I go to File>Shapes and select the Stencil -- Visio closes?

Should the stencils be put into another folder?

I have put them into My Shapes.

check your security settings:
on the Tools menu
ensure that it is set to high, there could be VBA code within the
stencil that is telling Visio to close.
Actually if you set it to Very high (or disable VBA entirely) then the
VBA won't run.
Long shot.

Think I found part of my answer

I put all the old stencils in another folder i.e. old vision - instead of My
Styles.

Now I can open and save the old drawings and save them as a new drawing. -
this works?

The only thing is that I have to run in Safe mode

Now how do I clean up the problem causing me to run in Safe mode??

Solved my problem as follows:
1- removed Visio
2 - deleted all references in registry
3- removed PDMaker for visio
4- re-installed Visio - all is good now!

thx

Interesting coincidence!!! A friend had trouble with Acrobat (full - not
the Reader). It turned out to be PDFMaker. He emailed joyously just
yesterday that he had removed PDF Maker, reinstalled Acrobat and voilà!

thx for your help

I have Acrobat 8.01 Professional.

Apparently the Add Ins caused the problem, so now I just downloaded the PDF
XPS capability from Microsoft.
