Import Outlook XP rules into Outlook 2000

I know it sounds goofy, me going backwards, but here's my problem. Had a system crash (thankfully I backup frequently) and upon re-installing Outlook XP, got the dreaded "extend.dat" message listed in MS knowledge base article 287844 (known problem, no known solution).

So, I reverted to my old Outlook 2000, and it works fine, but it will not let me import my rules in, as they were created with a newer version of Outlook. is there any way around this???
