Import PocketPC Audio in ON 2007? We could in 2003!

Where am I missing the option for ON 2007 to import my recorded notes on my
PocketPC? In 2003, I could choose a menu option to bring in all my voice
recordings.

If you say OneNote mobile, remember that only works for smartphones. So this
would not be a good solution for all. In addition, on the smartphone, you
can not wire one of you buttons directly to begin recording in OneNote
Mobile.

I look forward to any ideas.

Best Wishes,
Keith

The option to import notes from a PocketPC was removed because of
security issue. I suppose the audio features were handled by that one?
OneNote Mobile is actually not just for smartphones. What Windows Mobile
version do you have on your PPC?

When did this happen?
From B2TR to RTM?
I still remeber struggling with Items copied "from device" multiple
times.

Isn't progress wonderful? ;)

Yes, at times. :-(

But honestly speaking I did not see much use in the "copy from
device".
In the Beta it did not really work as reliable as I would have wanted
it.
Now having a new PDA running under WM 5, I find it far better to take
notes in ON Mobile than using the Outlook Notes feature.

Interesting.
Did this work with stand-alone recordings too or only with recordings
embedded in notes?
If you say OneNote mobile, remember that only works for

Are you asking for the usage with a PDA or a smartphones?
ON Mobile works with PDA too!
And recordings inserted in ON Mobile on a PDA are synched to the PC
really well. So why not take the recordings in OneNote?
If one needs them stand-alone later it's easy to export the
sound-files.
So this would not be a good solution for all.

What do you mean by "this"??
What's your wish/suggestion?

Yes, there's that on a PDA too. At least I did not yet find a way. And
I do not think taht one could assign calls for an applications with
parameters.

I am taking it a bit of context, but just wanted to add a note here - it
would be really nice if ON Mobile supported encryption, which would really
make it more flexible when used on a storage card.

Sorry, I do not understand what you mean by that.
What might encryption have to do with flexibility.
Just wondering ...

Simple, with the use of OneNote mobile files on the storage card itself
(which makes sense given the limkited storage capacity of most mobile
devices), the password for the device no longer protects the data. So in
that situation you have to be mindful of what information you are willing to
share with the world in the case of loss. By encrypting the data you are
open to more storage potentil (private, semi private, public ), increasing
its flexibility of application, if not actual use.
