import PST files

K

Kane

I originally was using Outlook 2003 and recently purchased
a laptop with W2000 and Outlook 2002 on it. I cannot open
or import my original PST files into Outlook 2002 now.

Any suggestions to move the folders? Thanks.

You must obtain a copy of Outlook 2003 and use it to convert the file to
"Outlook 97-2002" format.

That sounds easy enough. Will the help files in Outlook
2003 guide me on how to do this? I have yet to find a
command or menu selection to allow this conversion.

Please advise. Thanks.

Not really. This is not very well documented. All you need to do is create a
New PST file. That is the only way to get the dialog that lets you choose
the format of the PST. Choose "Outlook 97-2002" as the format. Then copy the
data from your Outlook 2003 file into the "Outlook 97-2002" file.
