Import resources - not all information importing

I am importing resource information for enterprise resources from Excel 2003
into Project 2007. The import wizard preview shows all fields correctly
mapping with the correct data, but once the import completes, a custom field
'skills' and the base calendar information have not updated. All other
information updates ok. What is going wrong?

Hello Jennifer,

Are you attempting to import the resources into Project Server 2007?
Your use of the term "enterprise" resources usually means you are
using Project Server. If you are using Project Server, please
repost your question to the Project Server newsgroup as you are more
likely to catch the eye of a server "guru" there.

If you are not using Project Server, but are using Project 2007 and
attempting to import resources into a regular Project file (*.mpp),
please give us some more information.

When you note the information has not updated - have you already
added those resources to the file and you are trying to edit
existing information? You mention that the base calendar
information is not being changed have you entered in the name of the
base calendar in the Excel file which is a valid base calendar in
Project? What type of field is the custom field you are trying to
add data into?

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

They are Project Server enterprise resources, but I am doing the import in MS
Project Pro using the import wizard. Not sure whether it is a Project Pro or
Project Server issue ...

The resources have already been created, and updated in part using the
import wizard (rates, custom fields etc) but not the base calendar. The
calendar name being used is the same as the enterprise calendars I have
already set up.

As for the custom field I had actually didn't have any data in it - so
nothing wrong there!

Hi Jennifer,

I can't replicate the problem you report using Project Pro but
without connection to server. I'm simply running the import wizard
started through File > Open and then merging. to update information.

I suggest shooting a message out to the Server NG to see if there is
something special about the Enterprise base calendar not being
updated.
