Import Task Progress

Hi,
We use MSP 2007 (SP1 but no infrastructure update)
When I am in a timesheet, the "Import Task Progress" unavailable
(grayed-out).
Does anyone have an idea what can cause that?

(The proccess I want to create: Team members update task progress
daily on My tasks page, and at the end of the week create their
timesheet and import the task progress into it . I prefer this method
than the other way around, becuase if they create the timesheet at the
begining of the week, in case they have a new assignment they will
need to use the annoying "add lines" feature).

Thanks for any help,
Gil.

Not sure why "Import Task Progress" is grayed out. Could be you have not
selected a task by checking the box next to it.

However, if you follow the process of updating tasks in "My Tasks" page
first, you will not need to import task progress on the initial timesheet
creation as it will bring in the snapshot of planned and actual hours from
your "My Tasks". The only time you would need to "Import Task Progress" is
if you timesheet for the period already exists and you have gone and made
subsequent updates to "My Tasks" for that time period. Is that a possible
scenario in your case?

Jonathan,
Thanks a lot for your answer.
I did not realize that the "Import task progress" is a task-base
operation, and I wanted to import task progress for all task together,
therefore I did not select any task by checking the box next to it...
Now when I did that it is working fine (and I can also select all
tasks with the upper-most button..). thanks!

I am using ProjectServer for project resource management. I am looking into other applications to handle our Testing phases. I have my project plan generated and a task for QC/UAT created. However, I will be using an Third party application to manage my testcases. I want import the information (example: passed/failed) from the testing software to a PS task(s). So, my question is, what formats can be imported into a task within ProjectServer?

I am using PS for project resource management. I have my project plan developed and my testing task defined. I will be using a third party app to handle my testcases. my question is, what format(s) can I use to import the third party testcase information to PS. I am currently checking with the thrid party app as well to see what they export to.

EPM Timesheet Import in Task

I am facing some issues while importing timesheets under Task(s).

Problem :

In the PWA browser application, I choose "My Tasks", then the "Import timesheet" button. A drop-down list of timesheets appears.

Is there any way to get the drop down list of timesheets to be imported to be a little more sensible?

The timesheets appear in no particular order, and include timesheets which have already been imported. This seems to mean that the list will keep growing, and it will be extremely difficult to locate timesheets which need to be imported. Is there a way of ensuring that the list by default appears in one or more of the following formats:
a) Sorted by date (preferably showing the latest first)
b) Showing only those which have not yet been imported.
c) As a less acceptable alternative to (b) above, showing only "recent" ones (say in the last 4-5 weeks)

Also, if I make a mistake and import a timesheet more than once, is any harm done?

I need to answer the above questions for my users.

Hope that you can help me out to resolve the same.
