Import text files

A

Ariana

I have around 50 text files with *.lis extension from
Mainframe and I need to build an access database based on
these files. First, I created a blank database "A" and
tried to use the import wizard to import these files. I
wasn't successful, it wouldn't import the whole file (some
files size are up to 90mb).
Then, I imported these files to tables in SQL server2000
database through and then transferred them to the access
database "A" that I've created. I was successful with some
but not all.
One of the problems I have while I am trying to export a
sql table to an access database "A" I am getting : INVALID
ARGUMENT ERROR. So I tried to export it to a different
access database "B" and it worked fine, at that point I
tried to export it from the access database "B" to the
access database "A" and I get the same error : INVALID
ARGUMENT.
Second question: is there a way to keep the datatype
while importing a text file to an access database because
when I tried the datatype for all the fields changed to
Text which is wrong for some of the field like Date field.
Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks,
Ariana
