Dear All,
When I try to open an ASCII or .txt file using the Import Text Wizard (Excel
97), I
get an error message and I'm not able to open the file. I get the following
message:
"This program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down. If
the problem persists, contact the program vendor."
If I click Details, I get:
"EXCEL caused an invalid page fault in module EXCEL.EXE at 015f:3007abc7"
And continues with a set of numbers and letters under the heading "Registers".
It happens when running under Win 98 and also happened under Win XP, in a
brand new PC... I've reinstalled Excel but the problem is still there.
The trouble is that my data is in columns and, in Excel, I need it also
separated in columns for further processing... Copy and paste is of no use,
since I get all the data in the same column...
Any idea of what can be done to solve this?
Thanks in advance,
Jorge
