Import vector shape from other apps?

I have a vector drawing in coreldraw, how do I get it into publisher so that
the lines and fill color can be edited as if the shape is drawn in
publisher?

I tried exporting to .wmf and then import the wmf into publisher. I can
resize the shape but the lines cannot be edited and the fill color cannot be
recolored. Changing line color merely changes the bounding rectangle's
color.

Ungroup the WMF, it will then be converted to a set of Office drawing
objects.

Thanks. It works. However, it converted each bezier curve to a bazillion
segments, making it very hard to edit. I ended up having to edit it in
coreldraw and re-export, reimport into publisher.

CorelDraw is far superior to Publisher as a drawing application. I have
CorelDraw, I wouldn't dream of editing a draw object in Publisher if I can do it
in Corel. When you edit a picture in Corel, copy, >>Paste special<< into
Publisher as a .wmf. The dreaded CARM doesn't appear...

True, but I like publisher for its simplicity, especially when I'm giving
the file to a friend who does not have coreldraw.

Is there any reason why the wmf -> ms object conversion has to change one
bezier curve into many segments? Could I suggest that this be improved in
future publisher?

None whatsoever. It's just as possible that it's Corel's WMF export
filter (WMF export filters are rarely the most robust things in the
world) as it is Publisher's WMF>MS converter.

I import the same wmf into corel and the bezier remains intact.

Improving this conversion would improve all the microsoft apps that use the
same conversion library.
