Import Works SS in Excel

I recieved a works spreadsheet in the mail and am stunned
that Excel cannot import it. What is going on. I cannot
even find a mentionof excel and works in the knowledge
base. The person who sent is gone on vacation so I canot
have her resend it. How do I open it?

Send it to someone with Works, have them open it, save it in Excel readable
format, have them send it back to you
