I am going to import a text file into my Access 2000 database. I have used
just the routine Get External Data / Import. Is there any easy way to post
the text data in a folloving way. I would like to analyze the data record by
record and if the record does not match the input criteria (like format is
incorrect) it would write the record to error text file.

I usually use low level I/O to read the text file line-by-line. On my
website (www.rogersaccesslibrary.com) there are several small Access sample
databases which illustrate various variations on doing this. Most of the
sample names start with "Update" or "Import".
