Imported BACKUP file is missing my calendar and contacts! PLEASE H

I am using outlook 2007. My laptop recently crashed but I was able to
salvage my back up PST file. However now that I imported my pst file into
OUTLOOK, NONE OF MY CALENDAR OR CONTACTS information in there. I am at the
verge of tears. Can anyone help me?

The PST normally includes calendar entries and contacts. Rather than import
your PST, which can cause issues such as you're seeing, use File > Open and
browse to your PST instead.

I would suggest that you create a new profile for Outlook to use, then open
your PST using the method above.

Hoping you regularly verified your PST backups.

Hi Kathleen!
Thank you for responding so quickly. Yes I used File>Open. It only imported
my emails and none of my contacts, calendar or notes. I am besides myself
right now. I have not way of retrieving this information as my laptop has
been re-imaged. I exported/saved my backup .pst file right before I
re-imaged. How is it possible that it would have none of my contacts or
calendar information?
I don't know what to do!

Is this a work email account? Are you using Exchange? In that case your
contacts and reminders are in that mailbox which is kept on the server.

There's no need to export/import with a PST. With an Exchange account, add
the PST to your account and you can drag and drop emails into it which
removes them from your Exchange mailbox. If you have a cap on your mailbox
this is one way to manage email though it's not optimal since the PST is not
backed up.

If you have a POP3 account, everything in Outlook from Outlook Today to
Tasks is contained in your PST file. This includes Contacts and the Calendar.

Please advise what type of mail account you have. Also, did you save off
your archive.PST or your outlook.PST? Outlook.PST is your default PST file,
or rather the name of your default PST file if you haven't renamed it.
Archive.PST is your archived email.

If you were using a tool to back up your PST file, did you ever verify your
backup?
